So many times I’m making a graphic for a printable or something for my Cricut machine and I can’t sift through all of my fonts to choose the best one. I actually have my fonts in my Font Book categorized into folders such as “brush fonts” or “modern fonts”. This makes sifting through what I need a little bit easier but I still have to click whichever fonts I choose to preview them and it is SO time consuming. I have so many fonts that it really becomes a headache. Which makes what I found today incredibly useful.
Today I stumbled upon this website called www.wordmark.it
Wordmark.it seriously loads all of the fonts in your computer and then you type whatever word or phrase you want to work with it and it loads previews of all your fonts. It even gives you options to toggle Aa AA aa or to change the kerning or spaces between characters. You can also change the font size or just hit the + or – to zoom in and out. You can even change to negative view and see your fonts in white with a black background!
As you are browsing your fonts you can select the ones you like best and it saves them all and then filters those so you can see them all on one screen and choose between them. If you make an account you can save these selections so you don’t have to go through the process next time! Also, they have a share feature so after you make your selections it gives you a URL to share to your Facebook and Twitter or you can email it to friends for some input.
This website is a total lifesaver it saves so much time. You really have to go and check it out. I am not going to do a full tutorial on how to use the site because it really is totally self explanatory but if you need help don’t hesitate to ask! They haven’t given me any incentive to tell you guys about it I just think it’s really a great tool.
